:)! So you know it totally doesn't get dark here. Our firework display was at midnight because you know, technically that makes it the fourth anyway and it was semi-dark. We drove around trying to find a spot. The docks were off-limits already so mostly we drove around until finally settling in at the Russian Fur museum. Haha I know right?
I love that feeling, patriotism is what I suppose you'd call it but at the moment your watching fireworks you just get that swell of emotion you know? To me it's an in the moment thing, a 'I can't believe I'm here' moment. I frequently sit down and think like that. The whole abstract I'm actually here and this is actually happening. I love moments like that.

Quote of the moment:
"I love songs about horses, railroads, land, Judgment Day, family, hard times, whiskey, courtship, marriage, adultery, separation, murder, war, prison, rambling, damnation, home, salvation, death, pride, humor, piety, rebellion, patriotism, larceny, determination, tragedy, rowdiness, heartbreak and love. And Mother. And God." - Johnny Cash
